LN8 stops welding and wire feeding no reason, old one.
Hello Fellow faultfinders,
Had a client recently compalining about an old LN8 just stopping, well on the older models they have a reed relay on the control pcb inside a wound copper coil, the contact spring fingers inside the reed relay get weaker, the coil is in the wire drive armature circuit, and monitors excessive armature load, once these contacts make, you have to cycle the power off and back on to keep going. Simple fix, cut the connecting wire to the reed relay, and it wont happen again.. But if that stuns you, just get another reed relay in there. Depends how desperate the client is.. dont cut the outer coil, if you do ... no drive.
Happy fault finding
